KNIVES
The knife is an important part of your equipment. Not only does it serve as a safety devise for cutting you free from any tangles with ropes or fishing line but is also used for dispatching any fish you spear. The best knives have a long thin blade with a good point to easily penetrate through the fishes head and into their brain. Always keep your knife as sharp as you can for ease of use. Make sure you position the knife on your body in an area where it will be easily accessible when handling a fish. For example carrying two knives one is on the arm and the other on my left side of my weight belt which sits on my hip. This allows me to access a knife in any situation should I require this, with either my right or left hand.
